Finding a stocking stuffer for the hunter in your life is not as hard as it may sound. Stocking stuffers are a gift that you can use to tell your hunter you care, and are perfect to give your hunter the gift of preparedness when he takes to the field.

Something that just about every hunter can use is a handwarmer. The old style that burns lighter fluid or sticks of fuel have mostly been replaced with air activated packets. These little packets give out heat for up to 10 hours and will keep you warm and toasty.
They are relatively inexpensive and are truely something you could stuff his stocking with.

A pocket first aid kit is something every hunter should have in his kit. Many are small only the size of a wallet and they make a great gift. If he already has one buy replacement components for it so that it is always filled.

A personal water filter is just the ticket if your hunter is in an area that has giardia or cryptosporidium. They start at around $15 and go up to a couple hundred. It is a good investment to keep your hunter healthy.

Does your hunter have a rimfire weapon? If so get him a box of premium ammunition for it. This will require some research on your part to determine the correct caliber. When you know that go to a sporting goods store and ask for some of the good stuff in that caliber. Avoid doing that at a chain store since most of the clerks don't really know much about firearms or ammunition. Along the same lines you could get him a box of ammunition for his favorite gun.

A fire starter of some kind is a good investment in keeping your hunter warm in case of an emergency. They make high power lighters, fire steels, magnesium blocks, fire pistons and other things used to make a fire in the field.

A pocket electronic caller is a fun gift for your hunter to experiment with. If your hunter doesn't have a caller already this is a great gift. Not as powerful as a full sized electronic caller it will still call in whatever animal your hunter is pursuing. They can call predators, turkeys, deer, elk and a host of other things. Just make sure you get the correct caller for your hunters tastes.

If all else fails it is the perfect time to buy your hunter his license for next year.

Finding that perfect stocking stuffer is easy with a little imagination and a little research on your part. They are a great way to add a degree of safety to your hunters trip afield.
